Laptop RAM (SODIMM)

SODIMM refers to “Small outline dual in-line memory module”, and is the usual SDRAM format for small footprint systems such as notebooks and laptops such as those from famous manufacturers like Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Sony, Toshiba, Asus, Dell, and of course Apple with their famous MacBook range. They are also used in small-footprint PCs such as Dell OptiPlex USFF or HP Compaq USFF PCs and other Mini-ITX based Desktops, high-end office printers, and networking hardware such as routers and NAS devices.
The most common use is of course in laptop and notebook computers. However, because of the limited space in these devices, when planning a memory upgrade it is important to know what SODIMM sizes are supported by your device. SODIMM SDRAM modules are usually 2GB, 4GB, 8GB or 16GB with 4GB being the most popular. SODIMMs usually have to be installed in matched pairs.
Like their desktop DIMM counterparts, SODIMMs also come in DDR1, DDR2, DDR3 and DDR4 speeds and specifications.
Nothing makes a laptop fly better than fully populated RAM sockets! It enables faster multitasking and less memory writes and paging extends battery life. Bargain Hardware carries a big range of pre-used or refurbished SODIMM memory modules from specialists such as Micron and Samsung and at a fraction of the list price you would pay from the OEM manufacturer - all fully tested and ready to go.
